Mental Health First Aid and Bespoke training
For the past ten years I have been facilitating Mental Health First Aid courses. I specialise in Youth, teen and Standard Mental Health First Aid Courses. I am specifically trained in educating adults and young people about mental health. My focus is to educate adults how to empower young people to live their best life possible. With the increase of mental health issues, I understand and want to promote the ever increasing value of prevention and early intervention in supporting young people from worsening mental health problems.
More work places and schools are starting to recognise the importance for education about mental health issues and crisis. We are hearing more often, “how we can support one another?”. Thats why we offer Mental Health first aid for Young People, adults and teens. The Mental Health First Aid courses are thoroughly evaluated, evidence informed, skills development courses for all community members.
I can also offer the ‘Tuning into Teens’ program for adults and carers of teenagers. All courses and training’s can be delivered in your workplace, sporting club, agency or school.

My speciality and passion
Is working with and empowering young people. I know how to connect, support and work well with children, adolescents, and young adults. I have a warm and empathetic style and I take the time to really hear the concerns and issues of the individual. People just want to be heard and loved, I don’t believe in rushed support or care and understand that young people can take longer to open up and develop trust.
Whether working with clients in the short or long term, I try and give every young person something to take away from each session. This helps with self-growth between our meetings and encourages a goal of empowerment and independence, creating less relapses and a healthy life, with less ongoing support needed.
Whole family support
There is huge value for the young person to work with the whole family where possible. I believe that some of the best support can come from a healthy and strong family connection. Young people will move away from their family and towards their friends through adolescents but it is important to keep the connections strong and supportive. Parents also need to know that they are doing a good job and have support.
I enjoying working with my clients in a holistic way addressing many components of life. We work together to help create a better balance of mental and physical health. I will draw from my knowledge of different theories and match the theory best suited for the individual client. Some clients would prefer more clinical based approaches and some would like a more supporting and understanding ear to talk to. Each client is different and the way I support each client will be tailored to their needs and wants.
Individual Supervision
As a seasoned youth counselor with extensive experience working with young people, I also have experience providing individual supervision to other youth counselors. In this role, I provide tailored guidance and support to my supervisees, helping them to develop their counseling skills and techniques while ensuring that they are providing the best possible care to the young people they work with. I take a collaborative and supportive approach to supervision, working closely with my supervisees to provide ongoing feedback and support, while also helping them to identify areas where they can improve their practice. With my guidance, my supervisees are well-equipped to provide the best possible care to young people, helping them to overcome the challenges they face and live happy, healthy lives through self-care practices.
Individual Counselling
As a counselor, I am committed to creating a safe and non-judgmental space where my clients feel comfortable sharing their experiences and exploring their emotions. I believe that everyone has the capacity for growth and healing, and my goal is to empower my clients to overcome their challenges and achieve their goals. In our sessions, I will listen actively, offer empathy and support, and help you develop new skills and perspectives to navigate life’s difficulties. Together, we will work towards a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
